Scan into your network fast with Epson
With its WorkForce DS-780N Epson presents a new sheet-fed scanner with interactive touchscreen control. Its network functions make the distribution of digitised documents particularly easy. The WorkForce DS-780N has a 100-sheet document feed capacity and digitises up to 45 sheets or 90 images per minute. It includes a USB 3.0 compatible port for speedy data transmission as an alternative to the network connection. An optional Slow Mode enables scanning of delicate documents. The scanner can also handle difficult materials such as envelopes or documents with Post-its. The new scanner is available from May 2017 qualified retail suppliers at approximately EUR 850.
The new WorkForce DS-780N is also supported by the Epson Document Capture Pro software, which provides users with a powerful document management system, enabling the DS-780N to work in a variety of workflows. The basic version of Document Capture Pro is free. This allows grouping of scan jobs as well as the allocation of certain access and authentication rights. The scanner can also handle hardware certifications from external manufacturers such as IC Cards. It also supports the LDAP protocol, a network protocol for querying and controlling distributed directory information. The status of the WorkForce DS-780N is sent to administrators via email to quickly and easily manage maintenance and malfunctions. This makes fleets of scanners easy to manage.
Jörn von Ahlen, Marketing Director, Epson Germany GmbH, says: “The built-in network functions are an important feature of the Epson Business Scanner as they offer users a high level of flexibility and a range of applications. Thanks to its scanning speed and functions such as the Slow Mode which allows delicate documents to be scanned with care, the new WorkForce DS-780N can also be used for difficult jobs.”
