Epson makes classroom presenting easier

1st July 2011 - Responding to demand for easy-to-use teaching equipment, Epson has developed the ELPCB01 Control and Connection Box. This straightforward, wall-mounted box puts Epson projector controls within easy reach at the front of the classroom, while keeping cables tidy.

Using the ELPCB01, teachers can switch between signal sources, such as laptops or DVD players, at the touch of a button. This saves valuable teaching time by removing the need to fiddle with ceiling-mounted inputs or remote controls.

Improving the look of classrooms and minimising trip hazards, the ELPCB01 keeps cables tidy with the included cover. It also boosts the USB signal so that USB cables can be extended by up to 10 metres, giving teachers more freedom of placement.

Graeme Davidson, category manager at Epson UK, says: “We developed the ELPCB01 to help teachers focus on the lesson rather than their equipment. It’s really straightforward to use, with big buttons and clearly-labelled inputs. Competitive products often have a hatch that needs to be held up to gain access to the inputs, but Epson has designed outwards-opening doors to make accessing the inputs a one-handed job.”

In addition to being easy to use, the ELPCB01 is simple to install. It is fixed in place with just four screws, plus its inputs and buttons are identical to those on all Epson education projectors for easy recognition.

Schools can create a total audio-visual solution by connecting the two optional Epson 15W active speakers, which have an internal amplifier to ensure powerful sound.

The ELPCB01 will be available from July 2011 priced at £174.99 ex. VAT, with the optional speakers priced at £91.66 ex. VAT.
